Hello and welcome to Drawn By Tides.

My name is Bernice. I am an Irish artist working with traditional stained glass, pencil sketching, pyrography, design and a little poetry.

This website is a digital window where I can share and display my artwork, combining story, drawing and traditional stained glass panel design.

My own creative chapter began after I moved to the North West of Ireland in 2003 where I explored drawing, pyrography and printing. I was introduced to traditional stained glass methods in 2019, on a summer course in NCAD, and it has captured my focus ever since. Stained glass allows you to tell stories, as originally intended centuries ago - stories inspired by events from my life here by the sea.

Throughout my life I have gravitated towards the sea - either through design or happenstance. I found a home here on the coast in County Sligo for over two decades overlooking a special area of conservation and large seal colony. Living in this environment has had a major influence on my life and my work.
